RPG/400 (RPG III) Developer Requirements Responsibilities... As an RPG/400 (RPG III) Developer, you will play a critical role in the lifecycle of our system. Your responsibilities will include: ? Configuring code based on program specifications provided. ? Implementing client requirements accurately and efficiently. ? Troubleshooting and debugging systems to identify and resolve issues promptly. ? Recovering from software glitches and ensuring minimal disruption to operations. ? Providing thorough analysis of test runs to assess program functionality and performance. ? Developing effective workarounds for unexpected challenges. ? Modifying existing programs to enhance functionality or address evolving business needs. ? Offering ongoing maintenance and support for applications, ensuring their stability and reliability. ? Collaborating with fellow developers and IT support staff to ensure seamless operation of programs and applications. Background: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: ? A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in software development. ? Proficiency in RPG/400 (RPG III) programming language and familiarity with DB2 SQL. ? Prior experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of CL programming. ? Knowledge of ILE (Integrated Language Environment) is highly advantageous. ? Experience with BPCS (Business Planning and Control System) or other ERP systems is a plus. ? Excellent analytical thinking skills to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex problems. ? Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. ? Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability in coding and system configuration. ? Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.
