Payer Relations Manager

Job Summary: The Payer Relations Manager is responsible for maintaining all contracted payers and improving collection rates... Duties and Responsibilities: ? Direct liaison with the billing team to identify targets for Director involvement. ? Provides backup coverage when department Director is unavailable. ? Assist in client and payer-related administrative projects as needed, contributing to the efficiency of client success and negotiation processes. ? Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in all interactions. ? Responsible for any deliverables required by contract (e.g. FWB training, quarterly TAT reporting). ? Analyze large data sets; collaborate with the billing team to improve cash collections. ? Consistently demonstrate the capacity to manage and resolve urgent issues that arise. ? Maintain the Contract Checklist template. ? Maintain the CI Reimbursement file. ? Communicate the need to hold or release claims for recently contracted payers. ? Occasional travel might be required. ? Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities: ? Understands and is able to speak/read medical terminology ? Strong understanding of the payer marketplace and reimbursement ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills ? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ? Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills ? Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail ? Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Education and Experience: ? Bachelor?s degree or equivalent relevant work experience ? Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in working in the payer/provider healthcare setting Work Environment & Physical Demands: ? This is a remote position. ? May require prolonged periods of sedentary work that requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer. ? Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. ? Light lifting (may be required to lift up to 20 pounds at times
