Job Description: The Amazon Finance and Accounting Supervisor manages the daily activities of the Finance and Accounting department in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and UPS policy. He/She assists in development and support of the staff in execution of strategies designed to achieve financial objectives. This position supervises various positions determined by the district (specialists, procurement administrators, database programmers, administrative payroll liaisons, payroll processors and senior purchasing liaisons). The role coordinates the account attachment and bid validation on a weekly basis. He/She supports the weekly contractual compliance process and distributes reporting material related to Amazon internally/externally. This position will work internally with the Amazon Business Development, the Amazon Customer Solutions and externally with Amazon on supporting/providing management, administrative and technical Support. Responsibilities and Duties: Reviews new account number requests from customer while ensuring information is accurate and communicates with UPS internal processing team for further processing. Completes weekly bid validation audit and copies the file to the sales SharePoint site Builds queries using various database tools to understand customers? current contracts trends. Completes ad hoc analyses for upper management to provide information on financial impacts of different scenarios. Participates in meetings with Amazon and UPS Amazon Team to develop winning and profitable sales strategies. Supports Amazon Business Development with internal contractual compliance reporting. Reviews audit procedures and shipping guidelines with Amazon and UPS Amazon Team to ensure education of customers on current UPS shipping policies and procedures. Identifies incorrect shipping charges to determine root causes, prevent future errors and execute action plans. Meets with the manager and UPS Amazon Team to discuss concerns and offer solutions for reoccurring issues. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates an understanding of industry and financial trends impacting UPS and/or customers? organizations. Identifies the organizational structure and functions within a business. Understands basic financial terminology and concepts such as cash flows, operating profit/loss and net income. Demonstrates business/accounting knowledge and describes methods in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) Basic Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer. Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions. Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself. Must have a bachelor?s degree (or internationally comparable degree) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience. Must have experience in advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.) and MS Access (tables, queries, macros, etc.). Must have experience in Data Warehouse (DWH) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent. Demonstrates a broad business and accounting knowledge.
