Penguin Random House is currently seeking a Sales Director to join their adult books sales team. Reporting into the EVP, Adult Retail Sales, the Sales Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of sales representatives who sells adult Penguin titles to Barnes & Noble. In collaboration with the publishers and account management team, this role will strategize on the... development and growth of both frontlist and backlist titles.

The Role:
? Works closely with division leads and sales team to plan key title promotions designed to meet annual growth targets.
? Manages monthly and annual account targets for net sales and returns.
? Coordinates with account to develop bespoke sales opportunities.
? Supervises team of National Account Managers on day-to-day activities and maximizing channel sales (initials, reorders, and backlist inventory management).
? Provides feedback to sales and publishing teams on market trends and account initiatives in stores and online.
? Works closely with RH, PRH Kids and PRHPS sales directors to coordinate and streamline account communication.

The Essentials:
? Minimum of 7 years of prior publishing sales/marketing experience
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills Strong analytical skills
? Ability to regularly attend in-person meetings with Barnes & Noble colleagues in the NYC home office or at PRH's NYC office
? Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve
? Proactive and able to adapt to changing priorities and environments
? Proven ability to successfully plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
? Prior supervisory experience
? Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
