Role Description: Are you thinking about moving from your current position as a Court Reporter to a Digital Reporter? In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing civil litigation proceedings and recording all content, including witness testimonies, using digital tools. The Digital Reporter is responsible for: ? Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record. ? Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties. ? Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation. ? Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription. ? Performing thorough research and validating data across multiple sources. ? Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools. Qualifications: ? State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it. ? Must possess or be able to obtain certification or state licensure (where required). ? Willing to learn or already knowledgeable about U.S. civil proceedings. ? Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment. ? Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings. ? Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing. ? Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills. ? Professional conduct, dependability, punctuality, and appearance. ? Openness to working as an independent contractor. ? Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required. ? Willing to work both remotely and in person.
