Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:
? Collects a holistic set of data that is relevant to the healthcare consumer's health condition and/or situation.
? Interprets the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues involved.
? Anticipates the expected outcomes for a personalized plan developed for the healthcare user in question.
? Builds a strategic blueprint outlining methods and choices to achieve desired results.
? Carries through with the designated plan. Confirms the patient's advancement aligned with the plan.
? Coordination of Care focuses on the harmonization of care delivery.
? Health Teaching and Health Promotion - uses tools to encourage health and a secure environment.
? The advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist use consultation to provide guidance that influences the identified plan, enhances the abilities of others, and facilitates meaningful transformation.
? Assesses the forward movement towards achieving the desired outcomes.

? Enhances the quality of nursing practice through organized methods
? Develops the expertise and proficiency that embody current nursing standards
? Gauges personal nursing performance by referencing professional practice standards, guidelines, and the applicable statutes, rules, and regulations

? Ensures the integration of ethical provisions in all practice realms

? A Registered Professional Nurse is expected to operate within the legal framework defined by the state in which they are employed, providing competent care that adheres to the standards, policies, laws, and regulations outlined by regulatory bodies and accrediting organizations.
? Honors the ethical code delineated in the Code of Ethics for Nurses established by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to:
? Help with documenting and monitoring nursing activities and the delivery of patient care.
? Utilize essential work-related software needed to engage as an active member of the organization, such as accessing the company email system, completing iLearn modules, participating in employee engagement surveys, viewing benefits and compensation information, and reviewing policies and procedures.
? Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing patient care delivery by creatively solving problems.
? Any further obligations as instructed by the supervisors.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
