We have an excellent opportunity available for a Operational Commissioning Officer to join our award winning Adult Social Care team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, 2 year fixed term contract.

As Operational Commissioning Officer you will support the Commissioning Manager with the operational commissioning function for Adult Social Care and, support commissioning projects and other areas that effect Adult Social Care e.g. Project management of commissioning shared support services.

You will play an integral role in contributing to aspects of safeguarding projects to ensure service quality is maintained, liaising with safeguarding and commissioning teams in other areas.

Under direction of the Commissioning Manager, you will provide advice and support to frontline practitioners on all aspects of commissioning and market knowledge concerning suitable providers and expanding customer choice.

Key responsibilities: ? Attend and contribute to Social Care Forums and cost panels ? Lead fee negotiation for new services using the Care Funding Calculator and other costing tools ? Support Adult services teams with placements, by sourcing appropriate placements and other provision by exception in line with Council and Legal requirements ? Attend all the departmental meetings relating to Commissioning as required ? Maintain future needs information in relation to mosaic and department requirements ? Inform the Future needs regarding up and coming needs to be met to consider commissioning in county and joint commissioning.

Candidate requirements: ? Good planning and organisational skills, with ability to multi-task, effectively manage own and others? workloads to achieve desired outcomes ? Understanding of the market providing Care placements for Vulnerable Adults, particularly Older People, with the ability to build strong rapport with providers and key professionals, including Social Workers ? Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently negotiate, persuade and influence at all levels, including senior managers and partners ? Driving license
