Below are the position details for your reference: Profile: Linux System Administrator Location: 100% Remote, occasionally onsite to Herndon, VA Duration: 12+ months (possible extension) Job Description: Client is seeking a Cloud System Administrator/System Engineer to support our Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector program. The position is mainly a telework position with occasional on site/office work in Herndon, VA required. The position will be integral in migrating the current on-premises services to the AWS Cloud platform while providing operations support. Throughout the project, the team will be working closely with the DoD customer to prioritize functionality, structure sprints, and deliver rapid iterations. ? Must be US Citizen, have an active/current T5 Background Investigation, and the ability to obtain a Common Access Card The successful candidate will: ? Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and in accordance with customer's security policies and directives. ? Migrate DTS computing environments and workloads into AWS GovCloud environment. ? Work with other teams and stakeholders in determining cloud migration requirements. ? Provide 24x7x365 System Administration to include (but not limited to) virtualization, security remediation, troubleshooting, and patching ? Provide rotational on call support (in addition to day-to-day tasks) ? Support DevSecOps environment ? Support tasks such as: o setting up administrator and service accounts o maintaining system documentation o tuning system performance o managing backups and replication ? Support planning, deployment, maintenance, and enhance system baseline configurations and security posture through administrative, preventive, detective, and reactive controls, such as system baseline management, change and configuration management, anti-virus measures and patch management. ? Utilize expertise to propose solutions to management to ensure all system requirements are based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. ? Prepare or ensure that appropriate system documentation exists, including operational instructions. ? Ensure Work Tickets are worked in a timely manner, completed/implemented successfully and the work tickets are updated appropriately Qualifications: ? BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10 ? Must be a US Citizen ? MUST have an active/current background investigation for a Privileged T5 position (does not need a clearance) ? Must have all required certifications (and current/active) ? Two (2) or more years of hands-on Systems Administration experience with Linux systems CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (Must have one of each of the following in each grouping) GROUP 1: Production Operations Computing Environment Must have at least one of the following: ? Red Hat Certified System Administrator/Engineer (RHCSA or RHCE) (Preferred) ? CompTIA Linux+ ? Experience with Linux operating system and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) ?
