What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
? Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, using modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques
? Instruct and guide patients through functional activities, including bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities
? Observe and follow treatment precautions, reporting any changes in patient responses to the appropriate medical staff
? Document daily patient interventions and services provided in the acute care setting
? Educate and train patients and caregivers, assessing their learning style preferences and responses

What Is Required (Qualifications)
? Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice
? Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
? Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
? Minimum of two years' technical experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
? High School Education/GED or equivalent

? Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
? Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
