This is a completely remote opportunity for Independent Contractors, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to varied... legal content including depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. Candidates are expected to demonstrate intense attention to detail, strong familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar skills. In this role, you will process audio recordings and must adhere strictly to our established style guides to produce accurate verbatim transcripts.

• Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription
• Excellent listening skills
• Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides
• Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar

• Proficient typing skills in both speed and accuracy
• Ability to process extreme audio/text content, even if it may be offensive
• Ability to pass a background check

• Court reporting students will also be considered

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings of depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings accurately
• Ensure strict adherence to witness testimony and legal terminology in transcripts
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information
• Follow established style guides to ensure consistency in transcripts
• Submit completed transcripts by agreed-upon deadlines
• Collaborate remotely with team members and seek guidance when necessary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in legal transcription, scoping, or court reporting
• Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to discern spoken nuances

Education Requirements

• Bachelor?s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred, but not mandatory
• Court reporting certification or relevant legal transcription training is highly advantageous

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal transcription or a related role
