The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) strengthens Arizona communities by bridging and minimizing gaps to employment and independence. DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Administrator with the Program Oversight & Support Administration (POSA). This position is responsible for high level leadership and managerial work of considerable complexity in the planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and evaluating of Arizona?s public workforce system. This position manages and coordinates federal, and state required workforce activities and cultivates relationships with partners and convenes cross-agency operational leadership meetings, associated committees, and ad-hoc teams to promote policy and practice alignment, process integration, problem solving, knowledge transfer, and issue resolution. This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling). Job Duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ? Represents the Department in local, state, and national partnerships to support the public workforce system?s service delivery and outcomes ? Acts as a single point of contact for Governor?s designated Local Workforce Development Boards/Areas (LWDB/A); provides guidance and technical assistance on mandatory operational activities; convene stakeholders as appropriate ? Promotes a continuous improvement culture by coaching and developing the teams? skills and abilities ? Coordinates with public workforce system partners to implement the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) State Plan; assists the Department to evaluate progress of the plan Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): ? Knowledge of long range and strategic planning concepts ? Knowledge of project management tools and best practices principles ? Critical thinking and problem-solving skills ? Facilitation skills ? Ability to communicate to internal and external stakeholders ? Ability to manage organizational and interagency dynamics in a team-oriented environment Selective Preference(s): The ideal candidate for this position will have: ? Bachelor?s Degree in public administration, business administration or related field; and ? Five years? experience in Workforce Development, Economic Development, or related field or ? Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience or ? Master?s Degree in field above with 7 years? experience is preferred Pre-Employment Requirements: ? Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency?s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions. ? If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance. (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.C.C.) R2-10-207.11).
