Arts Marketing Intern (AY 24-25 901144)
Seeking arts content creators! In collaboration with Mahaney Arts Center (MAC) Director, the Arts Marketing Intern develops and implements creative, student-oriented marketing efforts for the Arts at Middlebury, with the goal of increasing student attendance and making student interaction with the arts more impactful.

Requirements
Essential Functions:
? Develops and implements student-oriented marketing efforts for the Arts at Middlebury. Generates creative, sustainable marketing strategies that increase student attendance at arts events.
? Creates content for current social media platforms.
? Measures effectiveness of marketing efforts, and adjusts as necessary. Analyzes data and prepares reports on marketing results.
? Coordinates student-oriented marketing/communications efforts with the College?s Office of Communications via regular meetings.
? Cultivates strong relationships with student-oriented media, including social media.
? Studies the context of student-oriented marketing efforts within the larger landscape of marketing for the broader audience.
? Collaborates with Performing Arts Series intern(s) on marketing efforts related to that program.
? Forecasts budget needs for student-oriented marketing efforts, and manages existing resources carefully.
? Attends local and regional arts consortium meetings and conferences with MAC staffers as appropriate.
? Prepares final report on marketing efforts throughout the year, and makes recommendations for future actions.
General:
? Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
? Participates in the development and implementation of MAC goals and objectives.
? Maintains flexibility and willingness to contribute to the resolution of problems.
? Other duties as assigned.
Experience Desired:
? Great track record at creating exciting, effective content for social media in various platforms.
? Education/experience in the arts, arts administration, and/or marketing and communications helpful.
? Strong writing, design, technology, and social media savvy helpful.
Knowledge Desired:
? Demonstrates strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
? Demonstrates strong competence with computers and technology, particularly social media platforms, graphics/design, video creation, web authoring, and word processing software.
? Knowledge of standard copy editing and proofreading styles (APA, Chicago) helpful.
Other:
? Some evening and weekend work required. Work schedule that flexes with the events schedule. Some of the work can be self-scheduled and/or remote.
? Must be able to work at a computer for several hours a day. Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
Student Employment Eligibility:
Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus. Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.
Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component.
Students are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.
Hour Limitations:
All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
