POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the CalAIM Director, the Billing Specialist will oversee daily administrative operations and play
a key role in billing for programs and services. This includes handling CalAIM-specific billing services as well as managing
authorizations and other billing-related tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
? Prepare, review, and submit invoices and claims to the required entities, ensuring timely and accurate submission

per payer guidelines.
? Manage all stages of the revenue cycle, including claim creation, denial management, and payment posting, to

ensure maximum reimbursement.
? Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all required guidelines, regulations, and licensing requirements.
? Work closely with other departments and the Finance Team to analyze information, resolve billing issues, and ensure

accurate reporting.
? Monitor claim progression daily, manage reports, and submit monthly updates on billing activities to the
? Director.
? Organize and maintain a filing system for program documents related to billing, ensuring easy access and

compliance with organizational standards.
? Attend training sessions, team meetings, and carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

A High school diploma or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE
? A minimum of (3) years of relevant work experience.
? Experience with Medi-Cal billing

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
? Valid Driver?s License or the ability to utilize a reliable alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out

job-related essential functions. Valid automobile liability insurance required if driving.
? Nationally Registered Certified Coding Specialist (NRCCS)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general reports, procedures, or regulations. Ability to complete reports and write
business correspondence. Ability to read, write and speak both Spanish and English is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer skills for the purpose of data entry, sending and receiving email, virtual platforms, and calendar scheduling.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and comfortable learning new software quickly. Experience with
accounting software such as Netsuite is a plus.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal travel required.

? Flexibility to work both independently and as a team.
? Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
? High level of attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee will sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers up to 90% of the time. The employee will stand and walk up to
