Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Crisis Clinician (Access Clinician) in Worcester, MA. The City of Worcester Crisis Response Team provides clinical support 7 days per week, 24 hours per day in partnership with the Worcester Police Department and other first responders in the city of Worcester. The Clinician will be part of a multidisciplinary Crisis Response Team and partner with the Worcester Police Department to travel to and respond to crisis situations and provide urgent assessment, intervention, and referral. This support is provided in the Worcester community (CHL sites, area hospitals and/or other community locations) and includes assessments, safety/crisis planning, and referrals for further treatment/services with the goal of achieving recovery and permanent housing. Clinicians are responsible for engaging with individuals to complete assessments, develop behavioral health treatment plans, participate in brief interventions, and aftercare planning. By working together, clinicians and law enforcement can respond most appropriately to the needs of individuals in the community who are in crisis Responsibilities Works with the police to provide field visits, case management/follow up, and court advocacy for individuals with mental health concerns and substance use disorders. Act as a consultation resource to the Police and to Court on substance use disorder assessment, recovery, and prevention. Complete initial comprehensive assessment of clients who have identified a need for behavioral health services. Assessment requires clinical interview and contact with collateral providers/natural supports/ family members when possible and appropriate and consent is provided. Utilize mobile devices that allow access the Electronic Health Record (EHR) while in the field; also utilize mobile devices to document interventions and communicate the needs of persons served. The EHR will allow the disciplines to collaborate on meeting the needs of individuals and connecting them with care. Complete diagnostic formulation and treatment recommendations. Engage client in safety/crisis planning. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when indicated. Assess eligibility for services, medical necessity, and treatment preferences. Complete treatment plans including client's strengths, preferences, and behaviorally based goals and objectives as required by program standards. Complete referrals to indicated services and coordinate care on behalf of client, as required by program standards. Document service delivery activities according to program standards. Complete consents, releases of information, and other required documentation in compliance with program standards. Complete additional outcome tools, assessments and measures as required by program. Complete reassessments, treatment plan updates, readminister measures, and other documentation at assigned intervals. Participate in required clinical and administrative supervision. Recognize and seek consultation as needed. Complete continuing education activities as directed by licensing body and program requirements. Work assigned hours, which include overnight and 3-11 PM shifts. Perform other related job duties as assigned. Qualifications Grade C12: Access Clinician III: Master's degree in a clinical course of study in behavioral health (social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or related field) that meet the academic requirements for independent licensure in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Requires licensure as LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or is actively working towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Grade C16: Access Clinician IV: Master's degree in a clinical course of study (social work, psychology, counseling, or related field) and LICSW licensure or licensed Psychologist. Minimum two (2) years' experience working in a clinical environment. Must be available to work the 3-11 PM shift. Requires comfortability and ability to drive/ travel in response to a crisis with the police and provide rapid de-escalation and intervention. Knowledge of homelessness, HIV, substance abuse/mental health treatment and multi-cultural issues preferred. Excellent oral communication and computer skills. Working knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR). Ability to multitask. Must possess time management skills with a strong sense of prioritization. Requires personal and professional accountability, self-management, and initiative. Professional integrity and cultural competency. Has a current valid US-issued driver's license and a registered, inspected, and insured automobile for work related purposes.
