Job Overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. You will work closely with clients to promote their independence and well-being while ensuring their rights are respected.

Duties
? Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
? Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their emotional well-being.
? Implement behavior management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviors.
? Monitor and document client progress and any changes in condition or behavior.
? Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals.
? Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by maintaining hygiene standards.
? Advocate for resident rights and ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect.
? Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans.

Skills
? Experience in home care or senior care settings is highly desirable.
? Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques is a plus.
? Proficiency in behavior management strategies to effectively support individuals with diverse needs.
? Familiarity with assisted living environments and resident rights regulations.
? Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
? Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations.
? Background in social work or related fields is beneficial but not required.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 ? 40 per week
