Responsibilities

Design and deliver an engaging instructional program that meets standards and benchmarks, ensuring alignment with Massachusetts Common Core.

Utilize technology effectively, especially in remote or hybrid learning environments, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Manage the classroom environment and instructional time efficiently, incorporating consistent discipline practices and integrating support and enrichment activities.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of teaching activities and student progress, including lesson plans, assessments, student portfolios, and attendance records.

Collaborate with a paraprofessional, if assigned, to delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.

Foster strong partnerships with parents to support student achievement and uphold the school's mission.

Support the school's dual language goals and contribute to a culturally responsive learning environment.

Participate actively in school-based professional development opportunities, embracing innovations and technological advancements.

Pursue ongoing personal and professional development aligned with an approved professional development plan.

Attend and contribute to meetings and fulfill professional development requirements outside of regular school hours.

Experience/Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or relevant content area/grade level.

Massachusetts teaching license in the applicable grade level, with SEI endorsement or ability to obtain it within the first year.

Preferred minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with a strong commitment to educational equity and reform initiatives.

Experience working with urban students, particularly those from Hispanic backgrounds, is advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to work independently as a classroom leader and collaboratively within grade-level teams and the broader school community.

Proficiency in using a variety of educational programs, applications, and management systems.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational abilities.
