IMH Evaluator (Term Limited)

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2025-03-08

About the position
Zero to Thrive is seeking an evaluator for our Infant Mental Health (IMH) project. Zero to Thrive is a multi-disciplinary center housed within the Department of Psychiatry at Michigan Medicine and is a leader in perinatal, infant and early childhood mental health, with a focus on families exposed to adversity. The Michigan Model of Infant Mental Health Home Visiting (IMH-HV) is a needs-driven, relationship-focused intervention for parents and infants/toddlers aged 0 to 36 months. IMH-HV aims to meet the needs of families at risk for relationship problems, child abuse and/or neglect and behavioral health concerns. IMH-HV is currently provided through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to Medicaid-eligible families in pregnancy and/or with infants/toddlers. Zero to Thrive, supported by MDHHS, have led efforts to rigorously evaluate the outcomes of IMH-HV services. The Thriving Together Study enrolled and engaged with participants from 2017-2020, where families were randomized to receive IMH-HV services vs. treatment as usual. Six assessments were completed by the UM study team over the course of 24 months and included self-report questionnaires, videotaped parent-child interaction, audio recorded interviews and biological samples from mom and baby. Clinicians also provided data. Outcomes areas aligned with Michigan Public Act 291 and HomVEE Benchmarks. To study the long-term impact of IMH-HV services, MDHHS is supporting an additional one-time assessment of previously enrolled participants. Broadly, the Project Evaluator will provide support locating participants, completing the follow-up assessment and coordinating with other data sources (e.g., schools). Zero to Thrive is committed to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion across all areas of our work. We believe this commitment extends, not only to our community partners and the families we serve, but also to the faculty, trainees and staff who make up our team. We believe this diversity of people and perspectives enriches our group and the work we accomplish together as we strive toward our vision of supporting all families, from pregnancy through early childhood, to have the well-being necessary to achieve their full potential.
