Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly qualified Virtual Gifted Special Education Teacher to join our remote team. This position will serve a middle school caseload of students with diverse needs, including students identified as both gifted and requiring special education services. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in supporting academically advanced students with learning differences and create an engaging and inclusive virtual classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities: ? Deliver virtual instruction to a diverse caseload of middle school students identified as gifted with special education needs. ? Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student, ensuring goals and accommodations are being met. ? Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the needs of students, providing a balance of challenge and support. ? Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure a coordinated approach to instruction and support. ? Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to families, school administration, and other stakeholders. ? Utilize virtual learning platforms and technology to create a dynamic and engaging educational environment. ? Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance, IEP progress, and communication with families. ? Support the social-emotional development of students, fostering a growth mindset and self-advocacy skills. ? Attend virtual staff meetings, professional development sessions, and IEP meetings as required.

Qualifications: ? A current, valid New Mexico Special Education Teaching License. ? Gifted Endorsement or Gifted Certification. ? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. ? Prior experience teaching middle school students with both gifted and special education needs. ? Strong understanding of best practices in special education, including differentiation, accommodations, and behavior management. ? Proficient in virtual teaching tools and platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). ? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. ? Strong organizational and time-management abilities. ? Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative virtual team. ? Patience, creativity, and a commitment to the success of each student.
