HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):
The Principal Engineer is responsible for supporting customers through Package Solutions challenges and integration. Keep updated on industry trends and support/lead industry technical discussions as it related to DDL business objectives. Attend industry events, present topic discussions and be the technical voice of DDL. DDL is a 3rd party testing lab focused on providing testing services and supporting customer testing needs. This position will support customers by integrating DDL into resolving problems or supporting setup of equipment validations, troubleshooting process/design problems and becoming a preferred partner in their testing needs. The vision of this role is to position DDL not only as a testing service, but a consulting service by providing advice to navigate challenges where customers lack knowledge and talent. In addition, the vision is to create teams of internal engineers we can resource to customers to support them through project challenges, and the Principal Engineer will assist in training / leading these DDL teams.
? Support customers through challenges by providing technical support for design, equipment, processes, and automation.
? Identify industry trends and lead initiatives to support DDL advancement as industry leader as testing service provider.
? Attend trade shows and industry events such as annual ASTM, ISO, ISTA meetings.
? Present on topics related to DDL business and be the voice of DDL as the packaging solutions expert.
? Travel to customers to support initiatives and work with their team as needed to support package solution implementation needs ranging from process development to troubleshooting.
? Lead and train a DDL team to support customer package and product solution needs.
? Identify growth opportunities and present to Corporate leadership.
? Serve as a delegate on the ASTM, ISO committee or Other.
? Writing protocol and test method validations for clients
? Assist and support Sales on any custom / complex project designs and FTE programs.
? Gap Analysis consulting to ensure any remediation testing fills the gaps and is within compliance.
? Lead efforts creating thought leadership content for website, e-blasts, blogs, whitepapers, etc. with support from sales & marketing.
? Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
? Bachelor Degree in Package Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related scientific field. Masters preferred
? Over 12 years of Package and/or Mechanical Engineering experience
? Experience with SolidWorks and/or other CAD programs preferred.
