Key Responsibilities
? Manage the billing process by ensuring precise coding and compliance with healthcare regulations.
? Utilize ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems to accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures.
? Review medical records to verify the accuracy and completeness of information necessary for billing claims.
? Submit insurance claims correctly and timely to prevent delays in payment.
? Conduct follow-ups on unpaid claims, ensuring they are processed efficiently or escalated as necessary.
? Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to address billing inquiries.
? Maintain organized and detailed records of all billing transactions and communications.
? Stay updated on changes to coding practices, insurance policies, and regulations pertinent to medical billing.

Required Skills
? Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
? In-depth knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations (ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS).
? Proficient experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
? Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong problem-solving capabilities.
? Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
? Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications
? A Bachelor?s degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline is preferred.
? A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in medical coding is highly desirable.
