Key Responsibilities
? Accurately review and code medical records and encounters for diagnoses and procedures, adhering to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding standards.
? Implement ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and other pertinent coding regulations to ensure compliance and precision.
? Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of coded data.
? Address and resolve any discrepancies between clinical documentation and diagnosis coding.
? Stay abreast of the latest coding guidelines, regulations, and updates related to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding.
? Uphold HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
? Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and team members to clarify documentation and resolve coding inquiries.
? Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance coding proficiency and effectiveness.
? Generate reports on coding activities, accuracy, and trends.
? Support coding audits (both internal and external) to ensure adherence to coding practices.
? Identify and recommend enhancements to the coding process and documentation accuracy.

Required Skills
? Valid CPC or CCS certification (required); CRC or advanced certifications are preferred.
? Minimum of 2 years of experience in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding within a healthcare setting.
? In-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and CMS-HCC risk adjustment methodologies.
? Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
? Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work autonomously.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
? Knowledgeable about HIPAA and other compliance regulations.

Qualifications
? Certification: CPC or CCS (mandatory).
? Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding in a healthcare environment.
