What you'll do:
? Our guest experience services are designed to cater to the unique needs and preferences of each individual guest.
? Assist customers in the selection process by providing them with valuable insights and recommendations.
? Show genuine concern for the physical and emotional well-being of animals, and take proactive measures to ensure their proper treatment.
? Perform cashiering duties.
? Support the store in reaching its designated sales target by carrying out relevant duties.
? Maintaining a suitable inventory and pricing structure is of great importance in retail.
? Adhere to the set operational guidelines and store policies while operating within the existing procedures.
? Inspect guest requests and refer them to the Guest Experience Leader and/or Leader on Duty when necessary.

Key Accountabilities:
? Despite any potential accommodations that may be required, the individual in this role is responsible for fulfilling all the duties and responsibilities set forth in this position.
? Maintaining the health and well-being of live animals can be accomplished by providing them proper care in accordance with Petco's established standards, policies, and procedures, which includes conducting hourly animal health checks and keeping wellness documentation up-to-date.
? Effectively communicates the interests of the company in verbal and written interactions with professional colleagues, always maintaining a professional demeanor.
? Offers engaging and efficient assistance to Petco customers, discerning their needs and recommending relevant items, while effectively utilizing suggestive selling methods to improve total sales.
? This position necessitates a person who is well-versed in the area of nutrition, has sound expertise in Pals Rewards registration, comprehends the Welcome to the Family program, and can employ persuasive sales techniques to drive profits.
? Ensures guests receive a top-quality experience in all Omni-channel ventures, for example, Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery.
? Handles different components of point-of-sale service like processing cash payments, credit card payments, transferring checks, and managing customer returns and exchanges.
? Collaborates in the process of keeping merchandise well-stocked and arranged according to set guidelines.
? Processes customer transactions on the cash register and provides assistance with carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds per trip.
? Follows the loss prevention protocols instated by the organization.
? Aids in merchandise replenishment by following approved techniques, with the aim of maintaining a well-stocked store and precise record of inventory.
? Takes full responsibility for the care of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish in the store and ensures that their habitats are clean, safe, and secured. Furthermore, every required measure is taken to keep them healthy and in good condition.
? Any animal, reptile, bird or fish in need of medical attention or other specialized care is immediately reported to store leaders.
? Completes regular housekeeping tasks to aid in keeping the store's professional appearance, such as sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, washing windows, organizing displays, and maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms.
? Plays a key role in supporting store managers to correctly complete all mandatory documentation during store opening and closing.
? Participates in the process of conducting quarterly and annual physical inventory checks thoroughly.
? Exhibits a strong commitment to safety protocols, stressing the importance of safety in all aspects, including maintenance and cleanliness for the benefit of store partners, guests, and pets alike.
? Takes on designated tasks as instructed by management.

Work Environment:

While the majority of your duties will take place indoors, there may be times where you will need to venture outside the store.
