Duties The Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI) is Oregon? largest prison comprising of minimum and medium security male adults in custody. The institution includes multiple education and work programs, rehabilitative programs, recreation opportunities, and certifications for adults in custody. This position works in our staffing unit to manage the scheduling, post bidding, and leave for security staff in the operation of a 24-hour facility. SRCI operates multiple buildings and programs stretching over several shifts. Your job is to work with department policies, employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, and protected leave rules to ensure the operational staffing of the facility while meeting the needs of our staff using the Institution Staff Deployment System (ISDS). You will work to review leave slips, capture work hours, manage overtime requests and mandates, and facilitate a bidding process according to collective bargaining agreements. This position keeps records of staffing and hours worked, presents staffing trends to management, and makes recommendations on leave requests. The best candidate for this position has strong attention to detail, an understanding of Oregon payroll and leave, and can manage large pools of information in accordance to previously determined policies and guidelines. Minimum Qualifications Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. Working Conditions Working onsite at a men? minimum and medium security prison in an office environment including contact with Adults in Custody. Extended use of computers and filing system. Large volume of documentation and processing while preparing annual bidding. May be called back in case of an emergency according to collective bargaining agreements. Requirements for Employment You must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range.
