About the position

This position is part of the Verizon Thrive Apprenticeship Program, which is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in the field of data analytics and cloud engineering. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from industry experts. This immersive experience will last for one year, during which you will engage in meaningful work and real-life projects across various teams within Verizon. The program aims to prepare you for a career as a cloud engineer, focusing on the delivery of services through the Internet. You will learn the basics of the software development life cycle, including programming in HTML and JavaScript, and gain practical experience with the entire software stack. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will participate in coding challenges and complete hands-on assignments that will help you develop your skills and knowledge. Daily tasks may include working with technologies such as Test Driven Development (TTD), Object Oriented Programming (OOP), RESTful design patterns, Node.js, data structures and algorithms, and web security. You will also attend daily and weekly check-in meetings with your assigned coach and fellow team members to report on your progress, complete facilitated study time towards your apprenticeship curriculum, and collaborate with technical staff and mentors to learn workplace skills specific to your role. Additionally, you will participate in peer reviews of projects for fellow apprentices and apply what you have learned to real-world applications through various projects.

Requirements
? Must be a member of the Multiverse community and have completed the intro to coding course or data assessment with Multiverse.

? High school diploma or GED required.

? Associate's degree or one or more years of work experience preferred.

? Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
