Medical Transcriptionist, Independent Contractor
SUMMARY Transcribes Legal Nurse Reviewer?s medical records into comprehensive typed documents by performing the following duties... ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ? Retrieves nurse?s digital dictation of plaintiff cases from the database; ? Transcribes Legal Nurse Reviewer?s preselected medical records into a well-organized and accurate typewritten documents in pre-approved format per project requirements; ? Detects any discrepancies in dictation and highlights for nurse reviewer on the work product; ? Transcribes complex medical terms and ensures that the meaning of the reports are accurate; ? Develops an extensive knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with a variety of medical documents; ? Responsible for adding hyperlinks to any documents required by project; ? Uploads completed, digital segments into the database for review and merging; ensuring deadlines are met ? Responsible for billing all time worked into the MRC time and billing software according to project specifications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education (Certified Medical Transcriptionist) and experience. Must be able to type 70 words per minute or faster.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to type, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 ? 25 per week
