Our Third-Party Origination (TPO) division is currently expanding, and we seek an accomplished Non-QM Underwriter II or III to enhance our team. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a minimum required internet download speed of 50 Mbps to ensure optimal operational performance.

Role Overview

In your capacity as a Non-QM Underwriter, you will be instrumental in the evaluation of mortgage loan applications, scrutinizing applicants' financial profiles, and rendering critical decisions regarding loan eligibility. Your expertise in Non-QM guidelines, along with a sharp focus on compliance, precision, and detail, will be vital to your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
? Conduct comprehensive manual assessments of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with internal and investor guidelines, thereby enhancing the marketability of closed loans.
? Evaluate loan risks and request supplementary documentation as necessary.
? Review and analyze resubmitted loan conditions, making informed determinations regarding loan eligibility.
? Approve or deny loans, meticulously documenting your decisions and communicating these to all relevant stakeholders.
? Calculate borrower income and evaluate their repayment capacity.
? Maintain information accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
? Meet and strive to exceed company service-level standards and turnaround times.
? Proactively address audits and post-closing issues.
? Remain informed on Non-QM, TPO, and NDC guidelines and policies.
? Submit initial loan files and conditions to investors as needed and consistently follow up on file statuses.
? Provide mentorship to team members regarding underwriting standards and calculation techniques.
? Undertake additional relevant tasks as required.

Required Skills
? Exceptional mathematical and critical thinking abilities.
? Demonstrated experience in financial analysis.
? Proficient in analyzing complex corporate tax returns.
? Strong communication skills.
? Technologically adaptable and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications
? Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience.
? Experience in Non-QM underwriting is preferred.
? Bachelor's Degree is advantageous.
