Duration of Appointment Summer 2025 Maximum Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Job Description Summary Miami Online STEAM Team members will be responsible for being a positive youth role model while supervising, instructing, and managing participants of the STEAM Studio summer day camp on the Middletown and Hamilton Campuses. Job Description Essential Duties For Academic and Administrative Assistance settings, the student must: Engage in web authoring, JAVA, SQL, Basic C++, and create databases using various software packages. Provide support for divisional/departmental services. Provide supervisory functions including, but not limited to, scheduling, determining training needs, preparing training materials, and conducting training sessions. Work is done independently of supervision. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrate evidence of advanced technical and customer support leadership, skills in mentoring, training, expert management, and intermediate business. For University Police setting, the student must: Serve as public safety dispatcher, emergency response coordinator, and handle confidential information. Work performed is highly complex and requires extensive training (either coursework or in-house departmental training). Additional Position Information (if applicable) Summer STEAM Program Team Member Student Master 1 Undergrad Job Description Supervise, instruct, and manage participants at all times while programming is occurring. Assist in providing feedback and the collection of data to provide an assessment of program effectiveness, analyzing results, and making recommendations for improvement for future events and program design. Participate in program evaluation activities to inform recruitment and retention of program participants. Help plan and assess the effectiveness of content plan for social media. Enhances program, department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Must be friendly, enthusiastic, and display a positive attitude. Must be willing to serve as a positive youth role model. Successful experience mentoring youth and managing behavior of camp participants is a plus. Should possess customer service skills; including the ability to demonstrate conflict resolution, creativity, problem-solving, and time management skills. Responsible for inclusion of all participants despite individual needs. Demonstrates the ability to take initiative and prioritize work while ensuring a safe activity space. Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating technical information in terms understandable for middle-school aged participants. Ability and willingness to learn new skills; adapt to new technology and work independently with minimal supervision Physical demands include frequent walking as well as long periods of standing both indoors and outdoors.
